Scope: Selective demolition and remodel modernization of McCall-Donnelly High School included a 15,000 sf gymnasium and 10,000 sf classroom and multi-use complex; construction of a new 35,000 sf high school classroom-cafeteria-administration complex including mechanical and fire suppression systems, utilities and site work. The site work also included demolition and removal of underground fuel-storage tanks.
PETRA reused 30,000 sf of existing structure initially planned to be demolished and rebuilt by recycling school appurtenances including cabinetry, architectural items, and mechanical systems. The ability to utilize the existing structure scheduled for demo saved the school district over $3 million dollars.
Classes remained in session for the duration of project without incident. The PETRA team received special recognition for safety achievement and no incidents of staff or student safety issues.
