HUB 365

In the heart of the Treasure Valley, where community spirit thrives, stands a driving force and solidarity: HUB 365. Much more than a mere building, it’s a testament to the creativity and dedication of individuals like Jill Cornforth, whose visionary leadership has propelled the community forward in remarkable ways.

Conceived amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 era, HUB 365 emerged from the altruistic minds of Fred and Jill Cornforth during a church parking lot yard sale. What began as a simple gathering soon revealed profound truths about the struggles facing our neighbors – from food insecurities to the crushing weight of social isolation. In response, the Cornforths’ partnership with United Way of Treasure Valley, Cloverdale Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and Community Development, Inc., swiftly transformed a dream into reality, birthing a space where compassion reigns supreme and no one is left behind.

Sadly, Fred Cornforth, an esteemed Idaho businessman, philanthropist, and ardent advocate for education, passed away on March 15, 2024, after bravely battling brain cancer. His untimely departure, at the age of 64, leaves behind a profound void in our community. However, his legacy, including his instrumental role in the establishment of HUB 365 and a myriad other contributions, serves as a beacon of hope to fill the void he leaves behind. Fred was not only known for his remarkable achievements but also revered for his kindness and compassion, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

At the core of HUB 365 lies a simple yet powerful mission, “Building Community Daily Through Service.” This philosophy fills every aspect of the center’s operations, from the aisles of its food bank and thrift store to the welcoming embrace of its multi-purpose rooms. Here, dignity is paramount, and individuals are empowered to choose from a diverse array of essential items, ensuring that every visit is not just an act of necessity, but an opportunity for fulfillment and restoration.

The food bank, an integral part of HUB 365’s offerings, operates on Saturdays, offering various food options to those in need, serving an average of 45 families per week. Powered by the generosity of local donors and the support of the Idaho Food Bank, it stands as a testament to the power of community coming together in times of need.

Additionally, HUB 365’s thrift store provides budget friendly items to those in need. All inventory is donation-based, and the proceeds from their sales go towards funding various community programs, including no-cost clinics providing free dental exams, cleanings and fillings, eye exams, medical screenings, affordable meal programs, and community education classes, including a free Thursday evening art class called “Celebrating Life Through the Arts,” which helps women who have experienced trauma find self-worth through creative expression.

With a vision as expansive as the Idaho sky, Jill Cornforth and her team are committed to expanding their impact, forging new partnerships, and exploring avenues to support those struggling to make ends meet. Their devotion is a testament to the spirit of community advancement, and their efforts serve as a beacon of hope for all who call the Treasure Valley home.
