New construction of Idaho Power Long Valley Operations Center in Lake Fork, Idaho. This operations center was built and designed by Idaho based companies and is the first LEED building for the power company. The building gained LEED Gold status from construction waste management that diverted 50% of waste from disposal. Power poles were re-purposed for outside design elements. Water efficiency included wastewater technologies and water-efficient landscaping. Large overhead fans improved heating/cooling of air flow. High-efficiency HVAC system created a comfortable work environment. The automated heating and lighting reduce the building’s energy consumption.
