Albertsons Aircraft Hangar
Construction of the Albertsons Aircraft Hangar was performed on the grounds of the Boise Airport. Albertsons, LLC required a facility to house up to three corporate airplanes and a structure capable of withstanding the elements of Boise’s four distinct seasons. Construction for this project included a 17,500 square foot pre-engineered metal hangar, a 2-story aviation office building, tarmac, and parking lot.
PETRA self-performed all of the structural concrete and foundations for this aircraft hangar construction project which includes over 200 cubic yards of footings and approximately 30,000 square feet of slab-on-grade concrete. A cement-treated subbase was utilized on the project to eliminate subgrade infiltration into the base.
Due to proximity to adjacent buildings fire walls are integrated into the building facade. As required by section 412.4.6 (in accordance with NFPA 409), a foam fire suppression system was installed inside the structure.
