Storm Catcher Vault Largest Installation to Date

PETRA’s Washington crew is in process with the installation of a large storm water system at Mirror Lake Village. It is one of the largest installations to date with this new technology called Storm Catcher which uses the Filterra System.

The first vault went in a little over 6 hours with a crane rated at 265 tons – set up at 175 tons. The vault pieces weigh about 22,000 lbs each. With the crane set at 175 tons and 115′ of stick, they did not have to reset location to be able pick and set these two vaults. This vault (pictured above) is approximately 115′ long and 24′ wide and comprised 42 individual pieces. A smaller vault located adjacent is 72′ long and 40′ wide. The other two vaults will be set in the next few weeks.

Mirror Lake Village, an assisted living village located in Federal Way, Washington. The project includes 69,000 square feet of living and support space in two three story structures over a 29,600 square foot concrete parking garage. A full kitchen, dining facilities, library, theater and outdoor walk paths for residents will complete Phase I. Site work, utilities, and 33,074 square feet of landscaping are also included on the campus.
